Being Intentional

Who I am is not determined by anything external.

Who I am is determined by the decisions I make internally.

It is always our thoughts.

It is not the world.

When I take massive ownership over my thoughts, the world around me shifts.

This morning I woke up and DECIDED to intentionally attract what I WANTED, not what was being thrown at me — all of which has felt heavy and negative, therefore attracting more heaviness and negativity.

Here’s what happened today when I decided to make that shift:

I woke up early and I had time to fuel my mind and my soul with a book on abundance.

I moved my body. I gained mental clarity and physical strength. I felt the energy of people around me and the warmth of the sun on my skin.

I did something I had been scared to do for 8 months. It surprised me. I felt lighter.

I had a conversation with a stranger. We laughed together. I was reminded of the human spirit.

I had an amazing, eye opening conversation with a friend about racism, about how to be a part of the solution. It reinforced in me that positive changes ARE occurring right now.

I spent time with my babies. We danced and blew bubbles up to Benny in heaven. The girls reminded me that our future is being shaped in this very moment — they will be the change.

I took two different families through houses to find a home. They were excited. One client found their happy place. Helping them made me feel alive.

I snuggled and loved on my family, and enjoyed this beautiful night outdoors. It was the kind of Michigan evening we had been waiting for all Spring.

This day was something to be grateful for — perhaps they all were, but I had felt to weighted down by the external world to notice.

What have you been telling yourself lately?

Be honest. Be conscious. Pay attention. Decide if it’s the world that needs to change or your inner world — then watch the world shift too.
