Nervous System Regulation

I imagine if you're here inside this community full of heart-led leaders and movement makers, you're much like myself…

Dedicated to improving the lives of others.

The go-to, caretaker of the family.

A multi-dimensional, multi-passionate being.

This can also mean you often put a lot of pressure on yourself to show up, to help, to keep all the balls in the air, without asking for much support from anyone.

I get it, sister. I really do. I'm the same way

And what's interesting about moving through the world in this way, is we often forget how our ways of being rub off on those around us.

Last night, as I was putting my oldest, Olivia, to bed we had our usual “bedtime girl talk.”

This has become a very special time with my sweet girl – even though this mama is tired and more than ready to crash herself – it's become a bit of a routine for Olivia to spill her secret thoughts and personal experiences from the day with me at the end of the day. (I now make a little extra time in our bedtime routine to soak this in and tend to her little heart, just her and I. I know it won't last forever.)

Yesterday, she expressed how she felt like she was putting a little too much pressure on herself lately… and as she allowed for what I could feel was a much needed release (cue the tears) she said these exact words…

“I don't know how to get the pressure off me, mama!?"

These words really struck me.

They left an imprint because #1. she's nine and #2. she was able to articulate the fact that the pressure feels physical. As if it's a weight placed on our hearts and bodies that we physically need to remove.

She's right, it really does feel as such and it also becomes a “problem” that we want to solve with our minds.

When we feel pressure we want to solve the problem.

Remove the weight.

Stop doing something.

Say no to something.

We want to correct things outside of ourselves.

In reality, what's happening is that we are experiencing dysregulation in our nervous systems and this is work that asks us to go inward.

How do you recognize the signs of a dysregulated nervous system? Here are a few clues:

  1. You're feeling overwhelmed and constantly on edge, worrying about what's next

  2. You're frequently reactive, easily upset, frustrated or angry about things

  3. You're experiencing chronic pain and/or illness

  4. You're highly sensitive and easily over stimulated, loud noises and big crowds feel tough to manage

  5. You're having trouble controlling what you eat, extreme changes in appetite

  6. You're experiencing skin and gut issues

  7. You're not sleeping well and you feel fatigued throughout the day

  8. You're finding it hard to concentrate or focus on long-term goals

  9. You're experiencing hormonal imbalances

  10. You're people pleasing tendencies are on high-alert, you feel the need to fix others problems even when they haven't asked for your help and it leaves you feeling drained

If you're experiencing any of the above, sister, this is your sign that it's time to drop into the body!

And I know, it's super scary to be in your body… but this somatic work is what's going to make the biggest difference in the ways we experience life… helping us release the pressure we put on ourselves from time to time.

This is the work that has become top priority for myself as a Somatic Business Coach and business owner, but also personally as a mom, wife, and community leader.

It's my honor to show women what it looks like to put our bodies first and watch how this work impacts our worlds.

I do this inside our group mastermind community Sacred Work, and while our next cohort is on pause (as I am about to move into a brand new season of my life with this baby on the way: newborn land) I am excited to share that my team and I have created a few resources for you to tap into while I am on my maternity leave.

Introducing our…

Masterclass Library

These Masterclasses and Workshops are the first stepping stones into more sustainability in your body and business.

Each of these courses once ran LIVE for hundreds of women, and you can now access them in your own timing and complete them at your own pace.

Inside each of these programs you will tap into the necessary somatic work, ceremony, visualization, conscious and subconscious work to surrender and release any blocks that are holding you back. You will also gain the strategies and tools to help you create a sustainable and thriving business moving forward!

You are not meant to do this alone, sister.

While I'll soon be offline snuggling this sweet baby, I will still be with you energetically throughout each and every program, holding your hand as we create the business (and life!) your soul has been yearning for.

I hope you take a moment to check it out and invest in yourself. This is how we start to take the pressure off and lean into deeply held support.
